I’m a 36 year old mom with two boys, a 6 year old and a 4 month old. I’ve been “away” from the theater scene for about 13 years now, but after having my son was inspired to do something with purpose.
For three years, I’ve been working on creating a multimedia play project based on the actual stories and memoirs of women and mothers from all walks of life, backgrounds, and experiences (single, adoptive, surrogate, moms of older kids, women taking care of their mothers, women who don’t want to be mothers, moms of soldiers/or in the military themselves, the list is endless….)
I decided to develop a project that would build on itself each year it was performed and grow to include multiple modes of art (e.g. monologues, parodies, poems, movement, visual art, etc.).
It’s called “The Maternal Instincts Project”. My vision is to move and inspire others to share their unique journey to promote awareness, sensitivity, connection and healing knowing we’re not alone!
*****A portion of the proceeds will be donated each year to a charitable organization that helps women and mothers.

Hello! I love the concept of your project. I’ve been dealing with the ‘empty-nest’ for years now…good days…not so good days:) I have many, many stories. I have a background in theatre (BS in ’96) but chose not to persue it while raising my son…too demanding,etc. But now….foot loose and fancy free!

Unfortunately, we cannot do tickets in advance. Tickets will be on sale 10/14 and 10/15 at the door beginning at 7:30pm. Hope to see you there!
